Specialist PMO training courses are designed to provide individuals with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to excel in PMO roles. These courses focus on filling your skill gaps in key PMO areas and help you to develop some of the more behavioural skills needed to elevate your performance in your day-to-day role. At PMO Learning, our specialist courses are being developed all the time based on what you, the PMO practitioner is asking for and are brought to you by PMO trainers and experts who are specialists in their fields.
We have a range of courses for you to consider from Lean-Agile PMO, Assurance for PMO Professionals, and Benefits Management and the Role of the PMO.
Lean-Agile PMO (2-DAYS)
The Lean-Agile PMO course has been running for a few years now and has always been a popular specialist course for those working in PMO. The course is led by Jon Ward and is designed for PMOs and senior change stakeholders as they make the changes necessary to support agile and traditional projects, programmes, and portfolios.
The Lean-Agile PMO course enables participants to understand or predict the impacts of Agile on a PMO. Many organisations will find themselves operating with a hybrid portfolio consisting of waterfall activities, Agile activities, and some continuous delivery activities. This course outlines how the PMO should adapt itself to support the hybrid portfolio.
Following this course participants will:
- Understand how a PMO should function to support agile and traditional projects and programmes.
- Understand the critical differences between the Agile Frameworks and the essential factors influencing their selection.
- Recognise how the PMO needs to adapt and support each of the Frameworks. Be aware of the team roles in agile programmes and projects.
- Understand the project-to-product concept and the metrics used to evaluate value-stream performance.
- Understand how metrics are used in planning, analysis, and reporting agile activities.
- Be able to evaluate the suitability of Risk Management strategies in the agile context.
- Evaluate the status of agile projects using Red Amber Green analysis.
The Lean-Agile PMO course would benefit any delegate who has recently completed Essentials for PMO Administrators, Analysts or Managers, P3O® Foundation and Practitioner or MoP® Foundation.
The next Lean-Agile PMO course is coming up on the 19th-20th of June. Click here to read more and book your place.
Assurance for PMO Professionals (2-DAYS)
Effective and timely assurance is increasingly seen as critical to the success of projects. Carrying out the right reviews at the right time can help keep a project on course – or get it stopped if it’s going wrong! But assurance is much more than just reviews; it’s about everything that happens in and around a project to ensure risks are properly managed and that good decisions are made. This course describes how you as a PMO professional fit into the project assurance landscape, and how you can help ensure that project assurance is effective and efficient.
By the end of the course, delegates will:
- Learn how to ensure the principles of good assurance are met in all assurance activities, including establishing and maintaining effective independence.
- Explore different types of project reviews and how to conduct them in an effective and consistent way.
- Use case studies to discover how to provide assurance that avoids duplications and omissions, providing confidence to all stakeholders cost-effectively and at the right time.
- Learn how to advise on the design and implementation of effective P3 assurance arrangements.
The Assurance for PMO Professionals course is led by Roy Millard who has been working in Project risk management and Assurance for around 30 years. Click here to see Roy discuss the importance of Assurance and give you further details about why you should consider taking this course!
The next Assurance for PMO Professionals course is coming up on the 26th-27th of June. Click here to read more and book your place.
Benefits Management and the Role of the PMO (2-DAYS)

Specifically, for the PMO professional, the class also explores the challenges, and potential strategies and tactics to overcome them, when implementing Benefits Management within an organisation.
