At PMO Learning, we offer in-house training for both specialist PMO courses, and PMO certification courses.
How does it work?
If you have six or more members of staff wanting to take the same PMO course, it is much more cost and time-effective to host the training course yourself.
You set the location either virtual or in person and leave the rest to us.
We provide the certified trainer and all the course materials, ready to go on the dates that suit you.
Why run a training course in-house?
Since the pandemic, virtual learning has increased with most of our public courses running virtually via Zoom, however, the benefit of running courses in-house means you can run the course at your location. Running a course at your office means your team is in one place and allows an opportunity for everyone to collaborate and discuss key knowledge and goals face-to-face.
In-house training ensures all employees receive the same standard of training and leads to consistent knowledge and practices in your business. In-house courses can also be tailored to your organisation’s specific needs, industry, culture, and challenges. Public courses are typically more general and may not address your organisation’s unique requirements.
The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development recommends that businesses plan for the future skills their people and organisation need. Encourage continual learning and create clear learning pathways and career choices. At PMO Learning, we have clear learning pathways for PMO Practitioners with courses such as House of PMO Essentials which have four levels for delegates to complete, Administrator, Analyst, Manager, and Director. We are also always evolving and looking for new areas for PMO Practitioners to focus on such as Value Streams and the PMO.
A recent YouGov survey of line managers also said that learning and development have a significant contribution to make in improving organisational performance, transformation, innovation, and growth.
So why not take the opportunity to train your team together, we have certification courses Essentials suite, P3O®, or MoP® and specialist courses such as Benefits Management, Assurance, or Lean-Agile that focus on specific areas to improve in your PMO.
When is the best time of year to run a course?
The best time to schedule a training course for your team can depend on various factors, including the nature of the training, your industry, and the specific needs of your team.
At PMO Learning we typically see an increase in in-house training courses from September to March. This is a great period to spend your budget and train your team before the year ends.
Training Courses in the New Year
With the start of a new year, individuals will often set themselves personal and work targets to achieve over the next 12 months. A fresh mindset from the Christmas break and New Year resolutions means the start of the year is an optimal time to run an in-house training course to keep your staff energised and engaged. Show them how they can improve their own career with further knowledge and personal skills with one of our certification or specialist courses.
Training Courses in the ‘dead zone’
You may have heard of the term ‘dead zone’ in phrases discussing work times such as 4-6 pm when workers can be less productive or occupied with school runs etc. In the events industry, the dead zone would be referred to as times of the year with public holidays when people are typically away or spending time with family and therefore are less likely to attend an event, workshop, or conference.
April and May can be quieter due to it being the start of the financial year, however this time of year usually coincides with performance reviews and yearly reviews and so it is a perfect time to run a training course for your team. Providing training for your team before or after reviews can help improve performance goals, prepare for promotions, and enhance evaluation and feedback.
The summer months can also be typically quieter due to holidays, however it is also peak time for hiring new graduates for many businesses, which makes it a great time to start a new round of training for any new and existing employees.
Running an in-house course in these months will also mean you have flexible options on dates and times, and we can offer discounted rates. Get in touch to find out more!
